I wanted to work in UNIX hardware projects but i am forced to work in JAVA

I am working as a software professional in india. I am really worried about my carer. I came to IT industry dreaming to work in UNIX and C Programming.More related to hardware side. Now i have been asked to work in JAVA application development. I really feel a lot. After i work in JAVA will i get a job in UNIX and C programming stream. Any one please tell me.
