wow i didnt knew,,i had drink a lot of water before and got stomach pain,,

It's not so much the water but the amount you drink before relieving yourself.

I was shocked too! Here's one article I found related to the topic, this articles states no criminal charges have been filed but the newscast this morning mentioned someone calling in and reporting that drinking excessive amounts of water without relieving themselves is very dangerous, the disc jockeys blew it off!

This is the forth or fifth post on this issue. Regardless, it is just common sense that you could die form drinking too much water. This is an issue that has been on every news show for at least the last 6 years on a regular basis. Your cells get too full of water and can't function. She should have stopped when she started to not feel well. Burden is as much on her as the radio station.

I think the biggest issue is apparently sombody called in to let them know this was dangerous and they blew it off. But I agree, if you are doing something and its making you feel BAD you stop.

Its not so much drinking water, water is healthy for you, but the contest was to see who could drink the most water without using the bathroom. That's the part that can kill you.

i didn't heard that news.i used to drink plenty of water daily.but i stopped the day i read in health mazgine that drinking plenty of water reduce our digestive power n don't makes us feel hungry and its effect our organism system.some how it was true because i used to drink plenty of water and don't used to feel hungry.

That's a really shocking story. I guess the moral is that anything in excess will kill you. I've heard of people dying from taking too much Vitamin A (which overloaded their liver). I don't know why people go to these extremes - moderation and variety are more pleasant, as well as safer.

This lady was trying to win the Nintendo wii for her kids for Christmas. The contest was How Much water can you drink before you wee? Insane. I didn't know about vitamin A. Thanks for the info.

No I had never heard of this . I also have seen this story very tragic,why would the radio station have a contest that might kill someone ?? Crazy

sad part is someone working at a hospital had called the station to warn them that this was dangerous.
