How many years away are we from being able to colonize another planet?

I've heard that we have all the technology to be able to do it and that it's just a matter of logistics at this point.

just yesterday evening i saw a documentary about Mars how to reach it and when...the most problem are the politician! We are able to colonize Mars right now, but a big probles are the financiament, sponsor, and politics reason...
But to colonize planet more far it more difficult for the problem of the speed of our spacecraft

I think we could now if we wanted to, but it would probably be so damn expensive that no one would see any point in beginning.
