I have been hearing a lot on the news how identity theft has become an increasing problem in the modern technologically advanced world we live in. Is this something that concerns you? Have you ever been the victim of identity theft? If so, how was it resolved?

My sons biological father took me for ust over £22,000 that I didn't know I had until he had left me (6 months pregnant with my 7 year old). He was living in my home and I left for work before the postman so he was getting credit cards and a loan that I had no idea about.
As they were all in my name I am still paying them off, at the moment it costs me £30 a week. I did not want to pursue this as was having his child and didn't want to give him a reason not to see his son. It is just over 4 years since he saw him now.

Thank you both so much for your care and concern, but I'm sure that "what comes around goes around" so maybe one day he will be rewarded for his behaviour, I am just lucky in that by him leaving, I met a wonderful man who looks after us the best he can, even if I do call him Shrek because he is lovably grumpy.

i must admit it worries me sometimes. not that i have a lot to lose like i'm so rich, but i don't want to go thru all those problems and the troubles of fixing it. i see online transactions as risky like banking and payments online, yet they are the most convenient and fast way to get things done. debit and credit cards are identity-theft targets but people rely on those plastics for the same reasons. i guess all we need to do is to be careful. the most heart-breaking thing though is if the thief is someone close to you, someone you trust.
