Is it possible to get a 7 10 split?

Started bowling with a friend of mine, and we always seem to end up with a 7 10 split. And have yet to be able to get both. Is it even possible?

The 7-10 split (the hardest split to convert in bowling) is make once every 150,000 times. That would mean for you to make it, you would have to leave that split 150,000 times before you made it just once. That number ranges from 1-5,000 to 1-700,000 because there is no mathematical formula (there is skill in hitting one pin!). The way to make it is this: hit either pin hard. The pin will go into the pit and HOPEFULLY bounce out of the pit and hit the other pin. As far as I know, it is impossible to slide a pin across the deck to make the 7-10 nor have I ever seen it done that way. For someone with a slow ball-speed the shot is impossible. Here is a link to see how it is done. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EdEJvt_g81M

Alrighty then, there's no hope of me, a rookie, to ever hope to get this. LOL I can bowl in a straight line, so getting at least one of them is easy....it's picking up the other one that's extremely difficult. I'll just have to roll it harder then 15.5 then. Thanks!

It is possible to make this split but you need to have a lot of luck to get this one. Even the pro bowlers very rarely make this split since you have little room to work with. You have to either throw the ball really hard and hope the pin bounces off the walls in the back or side and hits the other one or you have to hit the very edge of the side of the pin near the gutter and have it slide over to the other one. It is by far the most difficult split to get.

I'm gonna work on sending the ball down faster, not sure if I can top my 15 though but I"ll give it a shot. Maybe then that pin will bounce out and get the other one.

Well, I feel as if I have left that split 150,000 times. I have yet to pick it up. I have seen it picked up once, throw your ball about 20-25 mph, hit the 7 or 10 pin, and hope that it goes into the pit, hits the back wall and by some miracle bounces back out and hits the other. I throw my ball an average of 19-22 mph and have yet for it to bounce out that way. I can always dream though.

in order to have this split,just throw a straight ball accurately to the middle of no. 1 pin.....you will high probably get either 7 10 or 4 6 7 10 or....but the chance for 4 6 7 10 is much higher..another possiblity is 4 6 10,4 7 10,6 10,6 7,strike etc....

Yes I have seen it done in person twice once by a 150 bowler using a power straight ball and once by a 200+ bowler using a beautiful hook.
