I find it ridiculous when my friends tell me that they gone fat because they quit smoking.. hey, what's the connection? but not until it's my turn..i'm on the stage of totally quitting it, and from my observation.. it has something to do with my weight gain. i'm just 98lbs 7mos ago and now would u believe i'm already 125 lbs? What do you think?

Ok, in reality you are gaining in response to you quitting smoking, since you have replaced the action of smoking with eating. It is a subconsious thing that you have to think about. Try chewing gum! That will actually help you spend a minute amount of calories however save you from the eating calories. You can do this and just become consious of when you eat and get the gum or work out, or walk. It can be done! Good luck, you will be feeling better soon!

Hi Obeseity cannot be cured by doing away with smoking. Also, its not true that by quitting smoking one cannot become fat. In order to restrict ur weight u should really practice Yoga or any of the Physical exercise which would definitely be recommended in coming down the weight. Please make sure that you avoid junky foods, heavy water intake and longer hours of sleep

It has nothing to do with the fact that you've quit smoking. It has something to do with you eating too much or eating wrong. The extra pounds don'e just add themselves. :-)

there is like a connection on why you are gaining weight now that you are quitting smoking. i read before on a certain book about this stuff that most girls who stop smoking gain much weight better than the guys. it is because of our body system. nicotine has a certain ingredient that makes us thin and if a certain person stop smoking, that would of course affect the way your body got used to the nicotine. Most people gain a few pounds after they stop smoking. but remember that it is only a minor health risk compared to the risk of smoking. Dieting while you're trying to stop smoking will cause unnecessary stress for you! Good luck and i hope you keep up the good work!
