Looking for Wifi providers

My husband just got a new laptop and it has wireless capabilities. He wants to get wireless internet. I know you have to get one of those cards to go into the laptop but which provider out there is the best for the least amount?? I tried Verizon, they are $60 a month. That's all I could really find. Thanks.
