Kissing in public places..

my friend and his girlfriend always quarrel because his girlfriend don't allow him to kiss her goodbye in public places.. what do you think,.. it is okay to kiss someone on public places?? dfoes it gives negative impression for both of them..?/

I love public displays of affection. Nothing gross, or that would require getting a room. But holding hands and kisses in public means more to me than if it's just done in private. It means to me that he loves me and wants the world to know about it.
But for some people this is not acceptable behavior and I understand where they are coming from as well.
