No, Kathy I couldn't class myself as a collector. I love antiques but they don't suit my house. My mother had some beautiful antique furniture, including a dresser which was worth a huge amount of money, but while she was in a nursing home and her house empty between tenants, she was burgled and everything in the house disappeared. We never told her about it. As you know, we were sugar cane farmers. When we retired and moved to town, my dear husband had his Ransomes Crawler Tractor brought here. It might not be quite antique, but it would certainly be veteran. He had ideas of restoring it, but it is still sitting in the shed nine years later. I have many nice things displayed in cabinets in my lounge room, and the boys are amazed at a few keepsakes included with the expensive items: things they made as youngsters. To me they are more valuable, so I would have to plead guilty to keeping keepsakes relating to my sons.

Miniature Royal Bareuth Watering Pot - image of a mimature Royal Bareuth Watering Pot probably from the late 19th early 20th century. Just one of my collection of minature watering pots.
I have a small cabinet full of miniature watering pots that my mother started collecting over 60 years ago. A few of them are over 100 years old. I am not interested in selling them at the moment because my roommate has asked me not to. There is no one in my family in the States that is interested so they will be handed down to ana after I am gone...whether my family likes it or not. There are lots of antiques here in the apartment but as I said at the moment neither my friend or I are interested in parting with them. The watering pot in the image is over 100 years old and I was told by an expert that is an example of Royal Bayreuth porcelain (see image).
