How do you decide what threads to reply to? Because whenever I make a decent discusion i am luck to recieve 5 replies. however when i make a quick patheric discusion then i find there are no shortage of people who are willing to make a post. Why is that? I would really come onto mylot and have a solid discusion on something, rather then discuss things like this. (sorry, I'm sorta complaining/ranting here) I have several discussions worth posting in, but whats the bet that you 90% of you will just find this post? My Lot disscusions (the topic) seem to get more replies then they deserve.

Yes it seems to happen like that but one day someone will come along a respond to one of your old discussions and it starts all over again, everyone has discussions with no replies, just keep plodding along....:)

Cheer up man... U should have a disussion that will make peoples to express from their heart and not from their brain cells.. They all will feel it as a stressfull work(making the brain to work is a hard job, isn't it :-) )

I get very good replies when I post something. Also it contains quality messages which has helped me a lot in my day to day life. I usually create discussions which are bothering me or my family so that its a problem solving exercise. I also post the messages on public health problems. Being a medico I have been always useful for others to solve the health related problems.

Your discusions are most likely quaility then. You give something to the comunity and the whole place benifits. Thats the reason where here right?

I have noticed that if it has a juicy head line there tends to be more replies.I listed one on george w bush and another on global warming and they both sank like bricks. But I guess people get tired of debating the same things over and over again.

i replied to threads that i believe i can give more input or i can relate to. well, other threads get more response even if they are quite pathetic or should i say easier to reply with, let is not forget that most of the members here are after the points and therefore reply easily to those topics that requires shorter understanding.

Your right, its easy to forget that. I am picky with my friends list - I wont accept anyone who apears to be after points. Maybe thats why I dont have as many responses. Cheers.

three things you need to remember: Controversy sells - and gets posts Friends can post replies to kick start of bump as can your comments - so get as many friends as you can. Toipcs, post things in interests to get peoples attention

Yeah, but the problem there is , my friend, there are lot and lot of dicussions posts posted in every minute. Most of them are lefter untouched. Each person may have there own interests. If a person didnt see a listing based on his interest then he seldom post more. And lack of the use of comments too makes good discussions hidden for the interested users... And , be sure that u start a discussion from the interest group. So that it will be having more attention. More the members of the group, more attention u got.

I wouldnt recomend it. I feel its better to get a few good ones then many bad ones. It's just annoying getting nowhere when you poor your heart into writing a header.

I think that it comes down to the fact that a lot of people are lazy. They don't wan't to read a lengthy discussion that someone has posted and then have to think of a response and actually 'discuss' something. It is much easier for people to talk crap and give a couple of sentences for their response. This way, they can respond to more and more posts and think they are getting paid alot for it. Personally, I just scroll through pages and pages of the never ending crap until I find something that I feel I am able to respond to and discuss, intelligently. Unfortunately a lot of people are here because they think they will make a quick buck and ruin the whole mylot experience for the rest of us. Enjoy the rest of your day. :)

I normally make 5 or 6 good long posts a day, and I get paid well for it. It pays to not be lazy and give it a bit of effort doesnt it? After all, your only sitting still rent you?

that's the problem of MyLot - you cant see a good decent discussions getting big and healthy - instead of this you get like tons of useless discussions like " your favoutir color plzzzzzz" and usch a discussions are pathetic! I started few discussions myself - concerning US troops, PAtriot Act etc and got almost no anwsers what is so sad for me since there is no reply on serious discussions at all!!

I think it's because people can't be bothered to think about their answer all the time and purposely pick simple discussions/questions to respond to. To be honest, in the past I've done that myself!

Yes I found that too..... I went out of my way with some of my topics and I only get a couple respond. Now how about being a bit fair considering we cannot copy and paste till we have enough posts. I am not a bad person either and I have alot of experiences in all areas and most response I have seen is no more than a sentence. Fair go myLot!!!

Its either MyLot pushing the discusions about itself ot the myloteans all wanting to talk about myLot. Either way it defeats the purpose of being here right?

Yeah is the question whose answer not only vary much person to person but also from time to time.. But what I think is there is no hard and foremost rule in judging which thread is to be answered and which one not to answered..The simple answer from my side is that I choose those threads which I think I am comfortable in discussing and also able to provide sufficient solution to the user from my side..So I choose those discussions which are of my interest..

I think I also have this experience. I guess most members are only here to make money, So they need responses they can answer with a single line, or a phrase. But I bet you, such answers won't help anyone. What I did was just to do a mixture of both. Sometimes serious and sometimes playful.

I usually respond to threads that strike my interest or that i really have some similar experience with. yes i have posted a few discussion where i got no response where i though many people will respond and an overwhelming responses for the discussions that i thought might not have made any noise. I guess thats how it goes sometimes.

I usually reply to discussions base on my interest, if i don't find any discussions there that interest me i would look into new discussions as well as discussions with no replies. I know how you fell my friend, its frustating to know that even if you have posted a quality, interesting and conversational topic no one responded to it. I used to post topics too but decided to divert my energy in responding to topics because of the said reasons. Users is more likely to answer topics regarding earnings, mylot, mylot rules and problems. This is a sad reality we have to face. I just hope someday users will change their habits pertaining to answering discussions.

First I decide subject of topics posted here. If I can make enough response then only I post reply otherwise ignore it and jump over other topic. I also give weightage to friends postings.
