Well, I am excited about the tailgate sale that I am going to tomorrow. Hopefully, I will be able to get some things to get my handheld DJV-5 going? I am curious how many Hams are on this site. My husband and I are Hams. My call is Kd5cqq and his is N5VAB. Looking forward to hearing from any of you. 73's

I do have my amatuer and advanced radio licence but I don't pratice. I got my amature in Newfoundland when I was going out with my boyfriend who was really into HAM. radio. He spent 6 months in the Golan Heights operating the Amature radio center so the peace keepers could talk back home. When I moved to Ontario my new job was a radio inspector. I had to adminster exams to the amatuer radio operators, so I had to pass my exam to be able to test them. That was harder than the first. I don't give exams anymore because it is taken care of a call center out of Ottawa now. Have fun tomorrow and I hope you find lots of good sales.

That sounds very interesting. Do you ever get on EchoLink where you can talk around the world? It is through a computer and pretty neat. My husband does it a lot. I have not really gotten into yet, but I am thinking about it. We do talk to people that are in Ontario. I am an Extra. Did you know that they have dropped the morse code requirements to get your license now?

I'm a UK based radio amateur, and my main interests are QRP HF and circuit design and development. I also like to wallop the old straight morse key!! I don't get on the air as much as I used to - mainly due to my professional responsibilities and other hobbies, but I'll get in some listening most weeks, even if I don't transmit. In terms of bands I use - 20m, 15m, 10m and 2m with an occasional foray on to 160m and 80m. Except on 2m, my transmitters are homebrew and my receivers either homebrew or a VERY ancient Yaesu. I'm very loathe to spend money. :-)
