Has it become too far fetched?

What do you think, has Lost become too far fetched? Think about it. They crashed on an island after their plane was pulled apart by a magnetic pull created because some guy who was on a boat race around the world didn't get to push a button every 108 minutes. Not only that, but the island also has mysterious healing powers, probably due to the magnetic pull, but can't heal one man (Ben). So there's this other island which has a group of people living on it who get cable and are in contact with the outside world but, even though some appear to be good people, they won't help the survivors get back to the outside world. Also, they kidnap children and pregnant ladies. These are just some of the outlandish ideas put forth by the writers of lost.

I don't think it has become far too fetched because I am one of those who believe that all of these things will have an explanation later and all we can do is keep on watching the show in order to understand things better. More than that, I believe Lost wouldn't be so appealing if it wasn't for the originality, complexity and mist that envolves every single epsiode, don't you think? I started by loving season one because it was far more personal and easy to understand, but now that things are getting deeper in all possible aspects I don't think the show should be overlooked just because of that, the writers still deserve some credit and praise for putting up the best TV show of the last, what, 10 years? That's my 2 cents :)

I know it's the far-fetched angles that keep people coming back. I sat one day after watching Lost and said to myself "wow, it's become so far-fetched, I don't know why so many people watch it" then I realised that that's the very reason that I kept watching it.

I like that it's far fetched. I think there was some kind of mysterious connection between everyone the plane and on the island and it will all come out.

I'm becoming disenchanted mainly because I'm afraid that it's going the way of the X-Files, meaning the producers are making it all up as they go along and have no plan for how to explain it all or how it will end. Chris Carter confessed after the X-Files ended that he never thought up explanations for any of it, he just thought it sounded cool, and I'm worry the same thing will happen with Lost.

I don't think LOST has become to far fetched because it's far fetched to begin with. Either the whole show is completely Sci-Fi and not meant to be in the normal streams of reality, or it's some really crazy set up. Either way the show has never really been all that logical. :)

Lost is not a reality show. This movie is very fictional in the sense that extraordinary things happen in the island. A person cannot question these things and the contrary situations you have just mentioned since in a fictional story, you cannot question anything that happen, may it be possible or not in the real life.
