my dg is on a biting spree

i have a pet dog who has been with our family since last 10 yrs. but lately he has been biting anyone who gets close to him. though he has never bitten any of our family members and his vet jokes that it is all right as he is not biting family members. but is it really all right. his such behaviour has started after we kept a new servant. plz. help me on this guys

It's a dog's nature to protect his pack that's why when you got a new servent he went on a biting spree. He's territotrial and he sees your servant as a threat to the pack, moreso, you for the dog are his pack that is why he has never bitten any of you. the dog'd just getting insecure and paranoid with the new servant, but don't worry, it'll wear out and he'll adopt with the scent of the servant. For now, just be responsible so that he won't be of harm to other people.

thanks for the advice but it has been almost a month since the servant has come to our house and my dog tries deserately to brek his leech so that he can bite the servant. i cannot fire the servant as he is very efficient and is of great assistance to my mother. cant i do something to make them friendly with each other?

Either the servant has done something to the dog or the dog may be hurting. Since it is 10 years old, it may have developed some arthritis or joint dislocation or something along those lines. You really need to let the vet check him out really good. They do not normally start biting at that age for no reason.

my dog never feels like he has grown old coz he plays hours together with me and is full of energy all day long. i also serve him food myself to avoid any foul play by anyone. he hasnt accepted my serant from day one. could it be that he has become jealous of my servant
