Do you think movies like Don (amitabh) or Umrao Jaan (Rekha) should be made into new movies like Don (SRK) Umrao Jaan (Aishwarya)

I think remaking of old films doesn't take anything away from the original movie. It only diverts our attention back to that original movie, we get to see that original movie again and again on TV channels and that helps in the TRP rating of the film and whosoever is going to gain out of it. And for the new film, it has already a benchmark to cross. So it is really a big challenge for the new version of the movie to prove itself.

It really depends on the movies. There are some that are categorized as immortals. Movies that you will not really get tired of watching at. Maybe these ones can be made into a remake.

some movies just can't be remade. Take 'Grease' without John Travolta or Olivia Newton John. 'The Great Escape' without Steve Mcqueen or Richard Attenborough. Casablanca without Humprhey Bogart... It lies very sensitive among the viewing public

Well it depends on the movie is made and the director and the star cast of the new remake. Batman released 1989 where Michael Keaton comes as Batman and Jack Nicholson as joker was remade as The Dark Knight in 2008 where Christian Bale is batman and Heath Ledger as joker. The Dark Knight was far better than the 1989 Batman, I don't remember any other remakes better than the original, but remakes like that are worth watching ...
