Death Note: Who is much better, L or Light?

L is a very smart character in Death note. He can understand how people think, and he could decipher a killer's motives and actions based on who they are. He has a very sharp intuition and keen sense of keeping the possible suspects such as Light close to him. Light, on the other hand, is very intelligent. He is an achiever and he knows how to deal with suspicions and manipulate the situation without making other people discover his true motives. So who's better among the two characters?

for me light is better than L. but who knows there is better than light that can surpass him. just my opinion.
