fruits and vegetables still better than vitamins

today, there are a lot of available vitamin and mineral supplements in the market. but i still think eating fruits or vegetables in meals or snacks is the best way to keep our body healthy. i believe that the vitamins and minerals stored in fruits or vegetables are better absorbed in the body and are more effective than any supplements sold. and since fruits and vegetables are all natural and without any chemicals, there are no risks of having harmful side effects in the body.

From my understanding, vitamins are not as good as eating the actual foods themselves...you don't get the same benefit. You need the nutrients to come from the foods. I guess your body doesn't absorb the nutrients as well through vitamins. I know how you feel though. I have five kids and where we live fruits and veggies are outrageously priced and they go through them like crazy....I can't keep them in the house...so I give them multivitamins to make up for what they don't get.... The best I can say is to do what was suggested by another person...do the next best option, buy frozen veggies. You can also buy things like yogurt with fruit....it's a good source of calcium...not sure about how much fruit they really get but it is still very good for them....Try dried fruits and fruit packs that come in those fruit cups...that way you can keep them put away and they can't eat them all up in one day.... Hope that helps.... Five kids who eat me out of house and home.... fruits and vegetables still better than vitamins happy mylot day.
