a virus

today while downloading Everest Benchmark fro a well known downloads web site after it completed my symentec antivirus detected a downloader virus in the file it cleaned it but although i want to say now we can't even trust on any web site we can be attacked from anythin. so plz don't download anything unless you have a dire need.

thanks for your valuable advice, yes there are some cites which contain the virus. I think to check the virus we should have s trong virus check mechanism in our system. But that also sometimes fails. Be careful whiledownloading unknown cites.

The site can be quite good and reputable, it's the hackers that you have to worry about. People with too much time on their hands and a mean streak. Imagine if hackers used their brains and concentrated their efforts on doing something useful to society - like finding a cure for cancer or AIDS, imagine what a better world this would be - and the amount of money they could make! Instead they continue to try to make everyone else's lives a misery.

I use sometimes, it doesn't actually host the files or has any responsibility for any viruses they may have, they just link you to the download link from the software company that released the program, in case of a virus found you should report to so they can remove this link. I use this site mainly because of the users reviews, you know exactly what you are getting and what problems other users has with it if any. also you can search and compare between programs that do the same job and read users reviews to choose the best.
