Have you read the poem 'Home Burial' by ROBERT FROST? It is concerned with a couple who lost their first husband. They lost their first child (son). The husband dug a pit beside the family tombs and buried the child. The wife saw the incident of her husband digging the ground, from the window. She could not digest it. After some days she again recalls the old incident and the poem depicts their conversation between them. The poem is a master piece. About 30 years back I lost my first child, a girl. We did not bury our child in the premises of our home which is very small. She was buried in a public grave yard. Later, we have two sons. Both are grown up. They are living. My wife felt that I forgot the demise of the child quite easily. Whenever she remembers our dead child, she calls me a stone. I read the poem of Robert Frost only recently. I felt that he was prophetic. In Telugu, there is a proverb, when translated reads as under: When and where the "SUN" cannot see a thing (eg. in a closed house without windows), a poet can see. Is this, not true in case of Frost?
