Denny Doherty, one-quarter of the 1960s folk-rock group the Mamas and the Papas, known for their soaring harmony on hits like "California Dreamin'" and "Monday, Monday," died Friday at 66. This was one of my favorite singers, and I still listen to there music. Anybody ever here of Mamas and Papas?

I loved the Mamas and Papas and I still play their music. I was really sad when they broke up as they were one of my favourite groups back in the 60's. I much prefer 60's music to some of the rock music that is constantly blairing on the radios these days, but I suppose it is a matter of taste.

Love the Mama and the Papas. I have California Dreamin going through my head. It popped in as soon as I read the title to your discussion. Cass Elliot was one of the greatest. Her voice powerful. The group song is such lovely harmony.

That's really a shame, I listened to their music back in the 60's and 70's and now on the oldies stations. They were a good group and I know most of their songs by heart. How sad.
