How To Make Your Own Chocolate Cake Mix

You have to admit, homemade is much better than store bought cakes. Why do we keep purchasing those cake mixes in a box? I think it is a matter of convience. Here is just one way to make your own mixes and have them ready to use anytime you want to make a cake. Just think of the money you will save by not running to the market for a cake mix.
Chocolate Cake Mix
6 cups flour
4-1/2 cups sugar
3-3/4 tsp baking soda
1 cup powdered milk
1-1/2 cup cocoa
3 tsp salt
Use four cups mix for one cake.
To Make One Cake
4 cups of Mix (recipe above)
To this mix add ½ cup melted margarine, 1 cup water, 2 beaten eggs, and 1 tsp vanilla.
Bake as you would any commercial cake mix.

This is a bit confusing....I have to make a mix and then measure out 4 cups of the mix? What happened to just measuring out one batch for the cake it's self?
So if I make this mix that takes 6 cups of flour...and then measure 4 cups of the mix...what do I do with the rest of the mix????

I am sorry. I do measure out my singele cake amount and put them into ziploc bags.

In case of cake I always prefer homemade from the scratch.

I don't know how I missed this one. I usually have a radar for anything chocolate.lol. I still don't have my oven working yet but I have a toaster oven that will do just fine. Thanks for sharing this with us.

Yummmmm....I love chocolate cake! But then, so does my whole family! If I had this mix sitting around pre-made like that, guaranteed that my kids would bake a cake on whim and eat it! NOT a good thing! Thank you for posting this though. They're teens. So maybe in a couple of years I'll do this.
