How do you find discussions to respond to?

When I first started at this site I always went to the new discussions and responded to those. I still go there, but now I also check my friends list and try to respond to those threads more than anything. Now I have a new habit. I respond to a discussion and scroll down to view the similar discussions. I find a lot of interesting things down there. Do you have a system?

To find discussions to replay to look for ones that know one anseder to. If you do that then you find it alot eseyer to replay to becuse you don't need to read all the discussion it will take like 3 mins to do becuse knowone anseder to the discussions.

I either check my friend discussions first and i also look at alot of the new discussions to see what people are talking about. I dont reply to any old subject so i pick mines carefully, which is not a good idea this is probally the reason i only make about 50 posts a day.

I usually alternate back and forth between my friends discussions and the new discussions. I also check out my interests from time to time. And every once in awhile I will go look at the new user discussions and discussions with no responses. I have never scrolled down and looked at the similar discussions but thanks for the tip.

I have to learn how to do all this. I don't know any of you. Still haven't learned my way around here. I don't see that anything I've said has gotton a response. What does it mean to be rated? What's the point? Sam

Likewise I use to just go through the general discussion area, but now that I have nice friends list, I will go to theirs and respond to their post before I go to the others...

First I check No responces, Book mark all the ones I want to asnwer there then check all the hot topics book mark what I want to out of there, Then I book mark all my friend's profiles and profiles of those who responded out of my post and go through them, I also do interest searches bookmark all I want to answer from there... So there is never really a shortage of topics for me. I have a list of people I avoid too. Usually I'll avoid the rude ones, or ones that posted an uncalled for nasty disrespectful responce. - DNatureofDTrain

I am new and don't have so many friends yet, so I tend to go to my interests and also to the main page of the discussion threada.

I usually start with tattoos in my interest section. I stick to topics mostly within my interest group, but when I am looking for something different to reply to, I go see what is new on my friends list.

I search MyLot with the searchmachine if there are discussions going one wit the keyword I have used. And I check my interests pages and if get more friends their discussions. I guess it's something you have to build up slowly.

Yeah, I usually also go for my friends threads and reply to them rather than replying to new discussions generated by people I'm not so familiar with. I think that for a while this system will keep but maybe I'll reach someday where I can't control none of these things anymore and just go nuts or something, haha :P

I normally look for discussion where I can add value and which hold some clear meaning and invoke some mind work. Not just the usual yes or no stuff. I like thought provoking ideas and discussions and topics which are dear to me and clos to my work. So I like queries and discussion in computer field, my hobbies, singing, sports, India.

Actually i go to the the interest shown on the left side and then follow from there. I also go to the related discussions and i think it is a good feature which makes it easy to navigate to various discussions.

I always respond to my friends discussions first then if I have time, I check out discussions from people who have commented on my discussions. Then I go to my interests and read discussions on there. But my friends come first. I am going to quit commenting on friends who do not comment on mine though

I have been mostly looking for things that spark an interest with me or things that I've experienced. I just realized though that I should visit my "friends" and see what they're saying. This was the first thing I saw. :)

in my case i usually respond to discussions that really interests me and that i could share a lot.. i do not respond to discussions that i could not relate. i do not want to just say anything that i do not know anything about so i always share my thoughts on threads that i have experience and know a lot.
