cannot change page orientation of ms word ?

i need help. The page orientation of my ms word is stuck in landscape mode, i cannot change it to portrait mode. When i try to change to portrait mode i get the message Increasing right margin causes last column to become too narrow in some sections having unevenly spaced columns. i've tried using default thing, using system restore and repair ms word. I't's still not changing to portrait. i cant get to default Has anyone encountered this problem or perphaps does anyone know what i can do to fix this?
