"Books are our best friends". Does it still hold good? Writing of books requires a very talented brain, People come and go, but their thoughts remain immortal in the form of books and inspire and benefit the futurity. But with the advent of electronic media, more and more children and adults remain glued to the "Idiot Box". Media can give us information; instant information of any incident taking place in any corner of the globe. But books give us knowledge which the TV hardly does. Lesser and lesser number of people now visit the libraries. Only a few books like Tom and Jerry are breaking all records, but they carry us only to a world of fantacy. How can we motivate the younger generation to understand the need to read more and more books?

hey, i sell books online for my living at the moment i like books a lot but i dont read too much. I would not waste time on a book like Tom and Jerry, you will learn nothing, it is only entertainment. thats is your question then, most children want to be entertained, and so you have to do the proper thing and that is teach them, this takes work. hey why am i the only one that answers your discussions!! LOL
