Well it shows heard that you are the baby boomers in the group of millions of people in the world. People are stating that the baby boomers as a "demographic timebomb." Businesses are now making it hard for you to get jobs. A lot of companies are making new policies and procedures (Age Managment Strategies). How does this make you feel that they are thinking the baby bommers will not be here long enough to make the business sucessful. What is your opinion?

Sorry to break the run of replies, but I was born in 1955 and I really think that the modern employer is full of it. Office culture these days is a jingle. "Teams" that don't exist except in job interviews, PC hypocrisy on a scale that would make a politician blush, mindless workshops about how to be a motivated person. Meanwhile the employers and managers seem to spend decades in meetings, reciting whatever they learned on their current business courses, or whatever form of sycophantic swill passes for management etiquette these days. It's not a workplace any more, it's a raffle. Who wants to work for a collection of semi-psychotic misanthropes half of whom cheated to get their degrees, anyway? I admit that my (insert every expletive you've ever heard) age group is a pain in the butt, but I don't envy the next few generations, if this is how they manage their businesses. Generally speaking, when business management gets to the policy stage, you can be certain that whatever happens will be a total disaster for everyone. These guys couldn't manage a hole in the ground. Too many moving parts. I, for one, feel glad to be out of it.

And they think that they will benefit with this. They are just making people madder and madder at them.

I am a 46er in Australia. My complaint is the asumption that everyone is fit (mentally, emotionally, physically) to be in the full time (or even part time) workforce makes life very difficult for some. For those who want to be employed and those who can be employed... their age is a detrimental factor. What employers don't seem to be able to acknowledge is the long term viability of the mature aged. The valuable life-experience, the sense of commitment, loyalty... things that the younger generation seem to lack.

Very true and I think that they must think about other people and how they feel.
