Maternity clothes...

I'm almost 6 months pregnant and I just like to express how dissapointing it is to find nice maternity clothes. Of course number 1 priority is comfort like the fabric and all that and then of course the style and the cut of the clothes (I believe that just because you're pregnant, you're already licensed to look like a rag), but my oh my I can't seem to find both qualities in a piece of clothing! My husband and I have tried different maternity shops here but still no luck! We even tried looking at ordinary shops and ask for their biggest size but still no luck! I work in an auditing firm and I like to look still pretty respectable together with the blazer and all the works, but it seems impossible. I am starting to think that pregnant women don't have enough choices for clothing since most shops focus more on fads and all that for skinny and model type women.... Pregnant women also need to comfort and style!!!Any suggestions on where I can go or what to do, I really need help with this. Thanks.

It's frustrating to find good maternity clothes. I'm only 10 weeks along but I remember how much my sister struggled to find clothes that were cute, affordable, and actually fit. I've bought a few things from Motherhood Maternity. They aren't super expensive and they have a good selection. I looked at their site and they have a "career collection" that might help you. I also like Gap Maternity. They're a little more expensive but a lot of their clothes are trendy and don't scream maternity. Old Navy has a nice online selection, but I haven't ordered from them. One more tip - check out these stores in person and online. They often have special online only items and sales. For example, Motherhood Maternity is having a big sale right now, but the stores only have certain colors/sizes. It's a lot easier to find the stuff I want online. Good luck!

Hey, thanks for the great advice! The thing is I am in the Philippines and we don't have these shops here so I guess I'll just order online and hopefully I'll get lucky to find the ones that would suit me. Thanks a lot!

I agree and "Motherhood Maternity" has to be the best store for inexpensive and stylish clothes. I got some nice pant suits and things in there for business meeting and such. I got a whole outfit, blazer, pants, and shirt for $24.00. It was on sale and very classy and stylish.

At least you're not too big yet :) I just went with the usual - my low rise jeans were perfect for sitting under my belly - in the same size i was in before being pregnant, i wore a lot of track pants more often than not. If you buy normal clothes, just get them a size or 2 bigger than you usually would & they will be fine. It really isn't worth the expense of buying maternity clothes, they really don't get worn for very long & they're always pretty high priced. I'd recommend just going with normal stuff but bigger - i had a fairly big baby (8lb5oz) but going on the size of my belly, it looked like there was room for 2 in there! Good Luck & i hope that helps some!
