Why is everyone so desperate in finding love?

I agree, you can't find love. It has to come looking for you. So many people are so desperate for somebody that they will settle for anybody. They should spend that time getting to know themselves first, and then wait patiently for the right person to come along. Our self-worth should not be all wrapped up in whether or not we have a partner. Deperation makes us unattractive and often scares people away.
