How to get a discussion on the homepage.

How do you get your discussions onto the homepage of myLot?
Obviously, if your discussion is shown on the homepage then it will gain more publicity and as a result, get more responses. This is why it is important to get your discussion onto the homepage? But just how do you do it?
I assume that the more interesting the discussion and the more replys there are then the more likly it is to get your discussion there. What else can be done to try and get your discussion onto the homepage?

I would like to know the secret of this too... I try to get my discussions as interesting as I can but I normally can't have more than 10 responses to my topics, the discussion I have more replies has about 30 only.
The first time I stayed around here I though only discussions of people with nearly or above 1000 posts would be able to get discussions to the main page because they post more and may have more friends to reply on their discussions but then I saw people with less than 100 posts with topics on the first page and realized number of posts doesn't matter for this.
Anyway I'll keep on trying to create good discussions when I remember of something to talk about, maybe someday I can get one of mine to the main page too.
