What do you all think about the state of the American Dream. I live in California with my husband and daughter. We make good money. We both work very hard. We aren't in major debt. Yet, there is no way in the world we will be able to buy a house. Mortgages starting at $3000 a month. Its absolutely crazy. It seems like we will never get ahead enough to buy a house. And apartment landlords know this so they are charging insane amounts for rent, yet you get nothing but your two bedroom little apartment that's noisy and never fixed up. How come there is this big gap between middleclass and upperclass?
