To fill the jar: 1 cup flour, 3/8 tsp. baking soda, 1/2 cup packed brown sugar, 1/2 cup white sugar, 5/8 cup quick oats, 5/8 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips, 5/8 cup candy coated chocolates (like M & M's), 1/2 cup crispy rice cereal.
Layer 1: Combine the flour and baking soda. Layer 2: brown sugar. Layer 3: white sugar. Layer 4: quick oats. Layer 5: chocolate chips. Layer 6: candy. Layer 7: cereal.
Press each layer firmly in place before adding the next ingredient. Finishing touches: Place lid and ring on tightly. Using a rubber band, secure a 9" circle of fabric to the lid. Using raffia or ribbon, attach a gift tag with the directions.
Directions: 1 jar Crispy Monster Cookie Mix
3/4 cup margarine, melted
1 egg beaten
Place cookie mix in a medium bowl; blend thoroughly. In a large bowl, cream margarine until light and fluffy. Beat in egg. Add cookie mix, and stir until well combined. Drop by teaspoonful 2 inches apart onto a greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 8-10 minutes. Cool for 5 minutes on cookie sheet; remove. Cool on wire rack. Yields 2 1/2 dozen.

This sounds really good. Another good jar recipe. I love monster cookies but haven't tried using it as a jar gift.
My recipe for monster cookies is really for a big big batch so this is nice to have a small batch.
thank you
