I joined a site that pays for articles. All was going great! I'd been paid about $40 in the past month for my articles. I started to sign in this morning, and it wouldn't take my info! So I thought, Hmmm... My account got deleted! So I used their search engine and searched for my name, and guess what!!! There was some other chicks name on MY account! Using MY picture that you see on Mylot. Using MY profile information!!! I've emailed them and gotten no response so far. I'll keep you updated on that. BUT GAH! I really HATE people that do these kind of things!!!

I just went to AC and tried to log in. I got this message :"Due to server maintenance, the log-in server has been disabled". I wonder if this has to do with your report about being hacked. I just thought you might like to know.

I am sorry this has happened. It is so rotten that we have to worry about this sort of thing. Hopefully, they won't get any other personal info. Good luck and let us know what they tell you.

I'm on AC and I NEVER sign out! Is that bad? OMG. I figured if I am still signed in nobody else can sign in in my place. Maybe I am wrong? Yikes! I just started last Friday and I have not had my first article accepted yet so I only wrote two so far and I am waiting see if they accept the articles and how much they pay so I can decide if it is worth my time or not. I do have a question, sounds like you are a seasoned AC'er so maybe you can tell me. I know the stuff has to be your own original work but can you use sources as long as you mention where you learned the certain facts you mention in your article? I feel it is important to be accurate so I would want to look up my facts first and in so doing would want to acknowledge the sources I used but of course would not use their wording, but my own. Is this allowed? Please let me know and I did read the rules and stuff but I am still confused on this one point. Thanks!

I'm pretty sure you can use sources. Meaning, if you're writing the article in first person, you can say something like, "So-and-So reported in Women's World Magazine, the national ratio of dogs versus cats is a whopping 10:2." Of course, that's a lame example. Lol. But it was all I could come up with on short notice. =P Anyways, I've written a few articles and just stated the facts that I'd read/seen without stating the source behind it. Maybe I should start doing that. Lol. But, what I do is research a certain topic, maybe over the course of a week, and keep notes in a notebook. Then I sit down with my notes and start writing. The most I've been paid for an article is $8. And that is my latest one. Other than that, I've been published 7 times? I think that's right. And the lowest was $4. That was on 2 articles, the rest were $6-$8. Here's a link to my Content Producer page. You can read a few (or all) of my articles to get an idea of what's being paid for. As I said, the highest was $8 and it was for the culprits of weight gain article. You can see how long the article is versus quality to get an idea of how their pay system works. I am by far NOT the best writer in the world, and certainly not a professional. So you may be able to tell me you got offered more than $8. I would love to know if you do! So I will know what to strive for. =) Here's the link: http://www.associatedcontent.com/user/37890/angelic.html

Contact their support department and report it.. Tell them to verify by contacting you at the email address you used to open the account originally. Ask them how your account was hacked.
