I Need Some Good Ideas For A Software Program

Someone gave me a copy of a program to design software. I'm very computer savvy so I'm sure I can learn to use it but the problem is, I really don't have any ideas about creating software that would benefit anyone. Does anyone here have any good ideas about the kind of software they would find useful, that would help them in their daily tasks? I would appreciate any input, no matter how obscure it may be.

A copy of a program to design software? Like a programming IDE? You will need to learn a programming language, which is a very large task. It is very hard to teach yourself, at least enough to make a real program. Are your sure you're in for this?
Anyways, a program I would like would be a reminder program that will keep track of my favorite shows and remind me a variable amount of time before the show comes on. It would also be nice if it gave me the info on the show like original airdate and subject. All that info could be retrieved from TVGuide.com so all you'd need to do would by sync with that (if thats even possible).

Wow, that's a great idea and I appreciate your input. The program appears to be a very simple one so I don't know what it's capable of doing yet. I haven't even started trying to learn it, I'm just fishing around for good ideas.
