hey, I think I am going to add another, new chapter to the Bible..

Nobody owns the copyright to it. I could copy it, then insert my new chapter, then publish it, print it. Also i could leave out things like Revelations... which is just a prediction as far as i am concerned, and not the truth. And after discussing some religiuos subjects here, i have decided there needs to be more chapters added as the generations go by. And since it was written by humans, i am a human, and Christian, and since nobody owns it more or less than I... I believe the i can write a new chapter itcan be written in the form of a blog-verse, and by more folks other than myself. God speaks to everybody, so therefore he did not just speak to the people that wrote the Bible. He has spoken to many people since then. And if God is everywhere then all things do not stay the same, we see more and less than our ancestors. This is big long journey that God has put forth, it could last longer than you might think. Therefore we might as well realize we ALL have something to give...

Go ahead, write whatever you want, God will not interfer. But definitely I don't believe that you are a Christian. If you are a Christian, you won't be saying what you are saying now. A Christian believes in God and the Holy Bible as the Word of God and it is the truth. Since you like to add and/or subtract to the Holy Bible, that is a clear proof that you are not a Christian. You mentioned of Revelation, study that very well especially the part on adding and/or subtracting to the Word. God spoke to the patriarchs and to the prophets. But now God spoke thru His Son and His Son gave His testament and that is the New Testament. People who wrote the Holy Bible were carried by the Holy Spirit and what they wrote was not theirs but of God. I was baptized into Christ on October 1, 1989 and I was given the gift of knowledge and understanding Bible Greek and so I translate the Word of God from Greek to English and I have already published THE WILL New Testament (Greek to English), GENESIS & EXODUS (Greek to English), etc. But what I do is translation - no adding (except for grammatical purposes indicated in italics), no subtracting. Definitely we ALL have somethng to give. After baptism in to Christ, God gives to each of us spiritual gifts which we should use for edification.

there is some truth to Arsenia, because i am not the best christian, i am a christian that was born one, i did not grow into it, i did not become one, it is just like that. i dont think myself as a hypocrite. The only way that God speaks to me is through love,,, but with love comes pain and passion, same to all humans. We feel pain and we feel passion - and neither is ever requited in this lifetime. therefore humans can only be pulled in both directions at the same time, ripping us apart. God is in charge of this conversation, not me, if he wants to speak to you, or me or non-believers, what can you do?... there can be no such thing as blasphemy, its just a word. And i did not know that in Revelations there is a notation about adding and subtracting the word of god, but i am understanding why.. revelations has not happened yet.

okay arsenia, i think i see what you mean, that after Jesus came and left, there was no more need for the God to speak to prophets anymore. He has spoken through Jesus already... is that what you mean?...

This whole discussion forgets to mention many of the scripts left out of today's bible, that formed part of the religious scriptures of early Christianity. Why were those scriptures left out and by whom? Who decided what constituted the word of God in the first place?

There are many versions of the bible, but you could probably get away with it using one of the older versions. But would you get the "Vatican seal of approval"? It's hard to say. But to write this, you'd need some "holy man" status for sure. Or if you could prove you are a descendant from one of the "chosen people" tribes. Or Jesus' baby's baby's (...) baby, like in Lord of the Rings, I mean, The Da Vinci Code. Otherwise, you can't be taken seriously. What kind of miraculous tricks can you do? Wait, guess what number I'm thinking about, riiiiiight.... NOW!

I have just one word of caution: Read Revelation 22:18-19, "I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book; if anyone add to them, God will add to him the plaques which are written in this book; and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God will take away his part from the tree of life and from the holy city, which are written in this book" I just ask that you carefully think about this.

so God is making threats about the plagues of my life? my humanity? have you noticed that THERE ARE ALREADY PLAGUES IN THIS LIFE? God does not need to make threats, my best friend in the world is dying of cancer as we speak. I dont give a damn what somebody wrote about plagues and revelations and the world coming to an end... people die from disease, murder, accidents, wild beasts, religious finatics everyday. so why would he bother to make threats cause I have a point view? I have a point of view, and if God does not want to hear it, thats not my problem.

Could you also leave out all the contradictory passages please .. that would make the reading and understanding of the storys much better .. I would imagine it's one of the few books that hasn't been significantly altered in 2,000 years .. quite a little miracle in itself really isn't it ..

thats true it has not been altered by much... so some of the ancient greek writings either, but they only had one author that was speaking purely for himself. but what if God spoke directly to you then? or me? if the bible is the word of God then we have the duty to scribe the words dont we? This is my point... If god really did speak to me, then religious people would say "no that is not god, that is somebody else speaking to you, maybe another god even, but surely not OUR god"... and i would be invalidated. my additional words would not belong in the bible. so thats what i mean by, there can be more gods than one, but the Bible and God are one and the same, if you changed the Bible, the concept of God would have to change.
