Hello,
My name is Katina, I am new to the site and trying to make new friends and figure out what I am actually doing here. I spend about 90% of my time sitting behind my desk, other than driving 50mi to school each way and taking classes in college.
I have chronic pain, from a past auto accident. I am working on my first book, and I am starting my own business. Blah, blah, blah, enough about me:
Who are you?
Do you write?
Anyone on the site have health problems and just need to vent?
Just wanted my first post to be something like an introduction of some sort. I think I am messing up already, but I have lots to say, so I hope that I can catch on to the site quick.
I am so confused about the points, what are they good for etc. I have read the FAQ but I am leary of scams, so I wanted to know if this really works. People actually get paid here?

What form of Chronic Pain do you have?? I have chronic pain myself, it has been diagnosed as Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy or Chronic Neuropathic Pain Syndrome. if you want to make good points on here, here is a few helpful hints........

Thank you so much for your quick reply. I was in a car accident in 98--the docs didn't fix my back and now I have what they call DDD, Degenerative Disc Diseas in my cervical spine, along with 4 bad disc, spinal stenosis and an inverted curve... all of which is fixable if I had better health insurance that is.
When I was in my car accident I didn't even have health insurance, when through a 5yr law suit and by the time it went to court I only got 5,000 from it.
So, just last week I went thru a procedure called RFA, Radio Frequency Ablation which is where the use something like electricity to heat up the nerve and fry it basically the nerve that is sending the pain signals to the brain.
The problems in my neck/back are still the same, but now the pain is dramatically less from the surgery.
I still cannot believe it. Sure wish they would fix the problem though. I know the nerves will grow back.

Hi Kat,
I live in Australia where it's summer and beautiful and sunny today (following a week of extreme heat). I am a(n aspiring) romance writer. I am published in short stories and articles and have a full manuscript under consideration with a US publisher. Here's hoping!
Most of my health problems stem back to my hormones - Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrome. Because of that I have suffered infertility (but beat it and have three gorgeous teenage sons), high blood pressure, cholesterol and lte onset diabetes. I also have degenrative disk disease in my back and neck- and have vertigo from the neck problem. I suffer pain but mostly it's bearable - though have a few episodes of severe pain. I can't imagine what you have to live with. So glad the new treatment seems to be working. Here's hoping they can fix is for you and soon. You're too young to have to deal with this!!
