I always keep mine in the fridge. I agree with you, I think it will go bad. Doesn't it say on the jar refridgerate after opening? And besides that..room temp jelly does not appeal to me at all, lo.

It does say that. but he doesn't seem to care. he also says that's why he wants it out cause he doesn't "like" it cold.

I put my jam in the fridge. I'm staying in a country where it's summer whole year round so if I left it out, it'll definitely go bad quickly. I guess when it's winter it's ok to leave it out since the weather is so cold.

I like to keep my jelly in the cupboard until it gets opened. Once its opened it has to stay in the Fridge. I can't stand warm jelly, plus i found that by keeping it cold helps it last longer.

He would care if it got all fuzzy & moldy. Yuk! I keep mine in the fridge because it will go moldy. Let's face it, think of how many times someone has dipped into that jar? And if they tend to lick the knife, then put it back into the jar? EWWWWW. Just opening and closing the jar opens it to airborne germs & stuff. So, I would always keep it in the fridge.

I know this and you know this. and i tell him this. but does he listen ? NO i think that this is not the first time that we've had this argument! i'll just let him leave it in there. and when it gets mold i'll make him eat it anyways LOL!

I agree, jam/jelly should ALWAYS be put on the fridge and not on the cupboard. That way it will remain more fresh and you can notice the difference in taste once you get to open it.

I totally agree with you on this one..putting jam/jellies in the fridge is far safer...coz yup, because of the fruit juices (acid+sugar) will most likely ferment it, not to mention the risks of mold as well (we left some outside the fridge before & it developed molds).... hmm, how about if you humor your hubby? buy 2 small bottles of jam/jelly, put one in the fridge, the other in the cupboard--then check back on it after some time & see which spoils first ^_~--just a suggestion--do update pls what happens if you do this! have a nice day! =)

Once it is opened, it must be refrigerated because of bacteria. So, you are right.

I always put mine in the fridge once it's been opened. It will go bad if left out.

It belongs in the fridge. I'm not really sure what will happen to you if you eat it left out in the cupboard but...I figure they must tell you to refridgerate it for a reason!

LOL..the age old question. Personally, I keep mine in the fridge, because I like it cold I guess, but my nan has always kept hers in the cupboard..I'm still alive so I guess preservatives take care of it not going bad quickly..hmm..just a little guess. :P

When I was growing up I remember my Mum always putting the jam in the cupboard...I don't think she ever really thought about it, it was what her mum used to do. I put jam in the fridge once a food product has been opened it needs to be refridgerated or it will breed germs etc.

I'd never leave it in a cupboard. You husband must like to live on dangerous side of life. I always put my jams and jellies in the fridge.
