Birthday Parties

I am so tired of trying to figure out what kind of party to have for my kids. My daughter just turned 10 and only wants to invite a few girls to go out to a movie and dinner. I told her she had to invite 2 girls from her class that she did not want to invite. I just felt that these 2 girls could not be left out. I am close to the moms and I felt bad. So, she agreed and now we areinviting 12 girls to go out for her birthday. We are seeing Dream Girls and then going to Outback Steakhouse.

Outback Steak House for a 10 year old? Borrrrrrrrring! How about a Chucky Cheese pizza palace, a Dairy Queen restaurant where after they eat each can design their own ice cream treat for dessert? Red Lobster at least has fishtanks and fun decor all around the room where their attentions can be directed - the staff will bring out a special dessert for the birthday girl, too. Anyway, happy birthday to her!

thanks for the birthday wishes. My daughter and her friends love Outback and they are past Chuck E Cheese believe it or not. Ten nowadays, unfortunately, is much more sophisticated than we were at that age. The girls are coming back to my house for cake and chocolate fondue.

I have the same problem. My oldest will be 7 soon and we've been talking about different things for a while now. She also wants movies involved, but she wants the whole class to come, except for a few of the kids that pick on her. I honestly think it is up to the child on who to invite, where it is their bday. As for hard feelings, just because parents are friends doesn't mean that the kids must be. Kids go alot of different ways and separate from other friends that they have had for years.

We have the same problem. Worst is, it would be his 1st birthday party.
