In a rather touching story, two burglars in Romania broke into an old woman's apartment and could not find more than the eqivalent of 50 cents in her possession. They actually ended up giving the woman all of their loose change, and left without taking anything! The bad side is that they did trash her apartment first, before realizing how poor she was. But they still had the heart not to take anything when they realized just how little she had. Have you ever been burgled? What did you think of the above story? Feel free to share any thoughts! ^_^ News story here: http://www.ananova.com/news/story/sm_2115116.html?menu=news.quirkies.strangecrime

Can you imagine how frightened this old woman must have been? Thank God that they didn't hurt her. You hear of burglars hurting people when they break in and get frustrated about finding nothing of value. Maybe there is some good in everyone after all! She ended up with more than she started with!

A theif with a heart, how rare. Hate to be the damper, but if they seen something of value they would most likely have snagged it. The leaving lose change behind, sounded more like an insult than anything. Maybe I'm just in a bad mood today.

No you aren't in a bad mood. I agree they would have taken everything she owned if it would have been valuable! I don't believe for one second they had heart. If they did, why would they be robbing people to begin with??

Poor old lady! I've always said that burglars would do that to me, lol. My ex partner did empty my home while I was a twork but it could have been worse he could have forced me to sell and asked for half of the proceeds, not quite thesame as being burgled but it was pretty bad walking into an empty house.

First the people from Bulgaria are not burglars we are Bulgarians. Second I don't believe that story because sometimes the country`s around Bulgaria made up that stories. Do you know that in Greece there is not 1 official Bulgarian but, arround 1,000 people chose Bulgarian as a fist language. How can that happen do you think that are Greece people who just learned Bulgarian?

Hello.. nice facts, thank you very much ^_^ But I was not calling Bulgarians "Burglars". Burglars is another word for 'thief'. I think if you had read all of the story I posted, you would understand what I meant. And it was a real news story, not something i made up. I wouldn't have posted the link to the news story, if it weren't. Thank you for your time. ^_^

I think this is a great story, it shows that in the right situation there can be founds some good in everyone. I am glad they did not hurt the women, all to often you hear about people being killed because they did not have enough to 'donate'.

It's sweet and hilarious at the same time. I wonder what the charge was, since I'm sure they couldn't have gotten away completely free!

It goes to show you, even burglers have a heart. They should have cleaned up some of the mess they made though. There is good in everyone, sometimes you have to look deep for it.

Thats a wild story. I never have had my place broken into but I knew guys years ago that did it for a living. It was really sad because most of the time the victims never feel safe in their houses again.

It's a great story but the part I find weird is when the old woman handed the police the money for finger analysis. What was she trying to do with it... catch the burglars? In a way, it's kind of weird, too XD ... First time hearing this kind of story except in movie or anime

hey man burglars are heartless.they once white washed my place and only the affected will know the trauma they face.they are ruthless people who stalk homes watching and monitoring every thing we do.this happened when i was young but i still get angry when i think how people can be so cruel and steal for a living.

This reminds me of a poem I have heard from someone, called Vultures, where the moral of the poem is that the tiny bit of good trapped in the icy caverns of an ogre cause evil to be everlasting. Having a rather cynical point of view, I think the tiny bit of good they did will cause them to commit more acts of evil to redeem themselves in the eys of their comrades.

It still must have been really scary for her - how can she feel safe in her home again? But it's still a cute story.

well at least they left her some money, but to trash the house is still heartless. i have not been robbed before except when i was in texas someone broke into my car and stoled a broken microwave that i was going to take to a dump the next day, so they did me a favor.

My burglars weren't so benevolent. There was no money in my home, at least they didn't find any, and they didn't trash the place, but they took everything that wasn't nailed to the floor. I had no house contents insurance either, so that set me back quite a bit, when I had to replace my tv, video, microwave, computers, stereo and many more items. They even took our phones. They left us with the beds, so at least we had somewhere to put our heads that night.

Home robbery gone bad...They probably felt bad because, they did all those things to her home and couldn't find anything..Had it been something worth it they probably would have not...I just believe they were feeling guilty....Great story, sad because of the people that do things liek that...But a somewhat happy ending, they did give her back what money she did have...despite messing up her home...

really, its a touching one...actually burglars are not god made....its all their need and povety, which makes them to do so...otherwise they also can be pure with from their heart and soul too like the others...so, instead of punishing them, we must step ahead, to make them polite and a responsible person..!

Wow that is pretty funny. It seems a bit unimaginable. I mean how do you know they actually dumped out all their change unless they were caught. It seems a bit fabricated but the idea is nice.
