What would you rather lose an ARM or a LEG?

if you were given a choice, what body part would you rather lose -- an arm or a leg? i came across an article about people getting some body parts amputated to prevent the spread of infection or disease. it made me think ... an arm or a leg? maybe i'd rather give up a leg because i need my arm (specially my hand) to be able to type the letters on my computer's keypad and be able to join discussion forums like mylot :)

I'm with you when it comes to losing a leg rather than an arm. Learning to walk and adapting must be much easier. I can't imagine losing the manual dexterity of an arm.

i do agree with you about the use of prosthetics. a prosthetic leg makes life easier than having a prosthetic arm. your mobility will not really be hampered nowadays when you lose a leg because there are some really good prosthetic legs or crutches available. and besides, i was just talking about just 1 leg or arm :)

that is a difficult decision but i think i will go with a arm... because if i don;t have a leg i can;t do anything by myself... i can;t walk, so i can;t get out of my house, i can;t go to bathroom... etc.. always i will need somebody to be with me! and i don't like that and about what you say... about typing... you will learn to type with a hand as fast as you type with two!

A prosthetic leg would be easier to use than a prosthetic arm. Think about it.

I would rather lose an arm than a leg because it is terrible not being able to walk. I had an accident last yr that got me bedridden and crippled for 4 months. It is really terrible to be sitting on wheelchair. Not to mention the tough physiotherapy process to regain the ability to walk...

Has everyone forgotten about prosthetic legs. I mean even a wooden peg leg would do to get you walking. How about the things you couldn't do without an arm. The prosthetic ones aren't sophisticated enough to be of any real use.
