Hilary Clinton- Yanks, what's the big issue about her?

Being a foreigner really doesn't help you understand US politics, however hard you try. It looks like a raffle from outside.
Hilary has always been the big threat in the Democrat arsenal. Some people apparently love her, others obviously loathe her.
I would have thought that a candidate who scares the (insert obvious) out of most people in politics would be an obvious choice of presidential candidate.
So what's the story? Not "first woman president", not "another Clinton", (after all you haven't run out of Bushes yet, either)what is it about her that creates such strong opinions?

Being a citizen doesn't help one understand our politics either. I'm not crazy about her political beliefs. Much of what she stands for goes against what I believe is morally right. She is charismatic and that is why a lot of people like her. She is a type that you either love or hate.
