how will you tell or show someone that you like or love him?

You've known him for quite a while in college. You liked him a lot but both of you were busy and too focused in acads(at least that's how it seemed). And then few months later someone called your name at the train while you were going home from work. You saw him, chatted for a while, but nothing more...this is where i am, i kept on thinking about him. I dont know if its right to initiate first. but of course you know its better to have tried and let him know how you feel, rather than having all your life in regret and wondering if he did feel the same. guys, can you give me some ideas on what should i do? How do i start a communication with him without being ackward or misintepreted as a flirt? How do i show or tell him that i like him more than just a friend?
