I think football games are popular but they may not be the most popular games in the world, because football is not played in every country. I think Age of empires or Need for speed may be more popular.

There are many popular games. Final Fantasy series, Metal Gear solid series, Resident Evil series, Gran Turismo series, Need for Speed series, Silent Hill series and many more, there are some of the popular must play games.
