My 9 year old has terrible asthma during the winter due to an outdoor woodburning furnace that my lovely neighbor put in....yes we are moving soon! In the mean time she wears a mask to go outdoors and wheezes alot. Does anyone know of any homeopathic remedies I can use to help her?? TIA

Homeopathic remedies can be very dangerous to a child with asthma unless you know all of her/his triggers. I was warned of this several years ago by the pediatrician. Some children can have a severe attack due to certain herbs. Too many children’s vitamins can as well. Talk to your Doctor first. If it is the smoke, there is not much you can do but as you are doing, move a way. You can try humidifiers at night and keep moisture in the air. You could also call her Doctor and tell them she is having episodes. More than 3 a week, her asthma isn't under control. For each attack, she has, there could be more damage being caused. You really need to set down with the Doctor and find a treatment/plan to help her. Good luck.

thank you for posting. We have talked to her doctor so many times...she is either in the docs office or ER at least once a week and no one seems to think this is a problem! She takes Advair 3X a day, nebulized treatment of ventolin as needed and a ventolin/albuterol inhailor usually 2x a day. Her asthma is FAR FAR from controlled. I am scared for her!

Bless your heart and hers as well! It may be time to consider going to another Doctor, maybe a specialist. I am shocked they think it is not a big deal. Mine were having as few as 4 episodes a week, and their Doctor really got on me for not having them in there sooner. I have yet to have a problem with their asthma, after a visit. (Oh, I reckon I should say, I have two girls with asthma.) I can see why your are looking for alternative treatments.
