Do you use Mapquest, Google, Yahoo, or another? Why? Have you ever spent countless hours looking at the satellite maps trying to find different things in your area?

I'll tell you what, when we found Mapquest, it was a miracle for us. We could never find the 'paper' map for the state, town, etc. anywhere. Do they even make real maps anymore? Anytime we need to go somewhere we've never been before we use the Mapquest. Gives us step-by-step directions. Thank goodness.

Hehe, paper maps are certainly getting less popular, though they are pretty handy for detours and the like. I'm glad you like mapquest.

I use windows live local. Its really cool. Gives perfect directions. What I like the most is that you can get as close as 30 yrds above the land in some areas. Its not real time, just a picture...but its still neat to see the top of your house from so far up. Mapquest and the others seem to give bad directions. They send you all around the old roads in my area instead of the main highway that runs through it now. I enjoy live local much better.

Is that a software program? That sounds interesting. Mapquest does generally give horrid directions, but generally good enough to get me somewhere (eventually).

Funny you should bring that up. I looked up my address on the satellite once and it was strange to see the roof of my home. I like mapquest the best.

Before I drive the car to a place I don't know where it is , I see the map of my country , israel. The map is available at walla.co.il in the maps option. I can type the address of the place I go out from , and I can type the destination address , and then I can see the shortest way on the map with instructions. I still have to take many notes about distances and many street names around so if I lose my way , I will still know how to come back to the right way. I find myself studing the map like 1 hour before I start driving and still , I sometimes lose my way.
