why DO you want to pursue a law degree? is there someone in your family to whom you look up to who is a lawyer? is it pressure (some say "a suggestion") from your parents? is it something that interests you? do you find litigation exciting? or does the thought of doing massive amounts of research stimulate you? whya re you contemplating this? are you filling out a law school application? just curious =)

To get yourself out of trouble, you know it is going to happen. Just kidding. Things to think about are why you chose law in the first place (help people, money, etc), where you see yourself practicing (large firm, company, private, probono, etc), and why type of law you want to practice (tax, real estate, contract, etc.). Thinking of things like this may help you in coming up with your statement. Best of luck and if you want to post some ideas here I am sure people will help you out.
