We often come across with people around us who boast off purchasing a mobile with advanced technology. They feel as if they have invented a new thing which has done marvels to the human society. Mobile phone has become a necessity. It is the indispensable mode of communication. we cannot imagine our routine life without it. It has become the ultimate necessity in our lives. If mobile phone phone has become a necessity, why do people consider having costly mobiles as luxury???? Is mobile phone a necessity or a luxury??? Thanks in advance for your response.

I think the answer to the question is relative. Mobile phones can be a necessity to people who are on the go. Like the businessmen and people who need to be contacted anytime, anywhere. Mobile phones are a luxury to people who just use them for nothing but sending messages that are not really important. Some kids do have mobile phones for fun. People also own mobile phones with a lot of features and they actually don't know how to use them, or even, don't really need the features. That for me is a luxury.

I spent a week without my phone and i survived but it was very difficult... of course my home phone does not allow outgoing calls to long distant numbers and when at school everyone is long distance, but i had people call me... i think it was once a luxury and is still somewhat just that, but i feel has time goes on it is becoming more of a necessity.

Mobile phones are undoubtedly necessary in today's world, but after all its the viewpint in which u r thinking. If u r looking only for device that lets u connected u go for a simple mobile, and if u r wanting some enterttainment along wid it, u go for the expensive ones, to addd a touch of luxury to necessity. Its all depending on ur angle of view, if u necessarily use it with a luxurious touch, then mobiles are a Luxuriuous necessit, or else they are a simple communicating device.

I think mobile phone is both a luxury as well as a necessity. With so much advancement in the world in technology,i think mobile gives U the luxury.

I agree. I only broke down and got a mobile phone when I had kids. It was my way to stay in touch with whoever was with my child at the time. Now that my oldest is 15, it is a necessity for him to have one so that I may FIND him (ie: hunt him down!). If he did not have one, I would NEVER know where he was!

I think that mobile phones are introduced as a necessary gadget but nowadays it has become that a person is said to be luxurious only if he has a mobile phone. This might be due to the technology revolution. The revolution has made the cost of mobile phones to be cheaper and thus making availability of this instrument to every common man. Even though luxury is a necessity for a mobile phone, if one thinks that this is only for communication purpose, then they wont go for luxury in mobile.

Whether luxury or not it is necessary one for everycapable and worthy persons who were able to operate. As the modern communication is revoluting the world the mobile is an absolute necessity, may be luxury.

mobile phones is a necessity. but, some people use it as a luxury. for example just to with the trend. usually teenagers practice this kind of thing they wanted to be "IN" with their friends and don't want top be left behind.

In todays fast world, I think mobile is a necessity. It is also very helpful in emergency cases. It can even save life, due to its quick actions and responses. besides people remain connected all the time, no wonder how far the distance is. Parents who are worried about their soilder sons can relax by hearing from their loved once. Also in the field of competiton, mobile can be more helpful. See how today sms services are making money and spreading it world wide business. Today it is very difficult to remain without mobile. It is definately a necessity.

Is mobile phone a luxury or a necessity???? it depends upon situation suppose a student is using a mobile phone then its luxury, but if he is out late night, than it is necessity .And is case girls yes its necessity. u can feel when u would be a mother or father. on the other hand if u r working , n want to stay connected with ur clients ,friends, family its a good source of connection . so it depends upon situation

i quess mobile is a necessity, luxury is number two for me. i have a mobile that not very luxury, just can call and sms or maybe have a radio on it, so i can hear it in the middle of my boring activity. for a fashion/rich man/woman, luxury is a must. beside they can call or sms, they can still have a good "style" of their apparance:) its a satisfaction mental for some people i think hihihi..^^

For me a necessity, my mobile phone is 5 years old. And i have no plans of changing it, as long thati can used it's basic function call and text message. I will not buy an expensive one that has so many function but i cannot used it very often. Also if buy expensive you will loss expensive. I will not buy expensive one if i can have a things that i can have a simple one.

definately it solves ur purpose of communication when ever n where ever u require.u can be in touch wth people without a cell phone too but the best part is they can trace u down when ever they want, n tht might be a big headache a some point. like one of cousin who was ona leave was carring his mobile phone n was called by his boss in the middle of his leave saying tht it was an emergency. so more than a necessity its an added problem i belive this in one thing .....the other thing is people keep mobile phones for show off. they will buy the best handset available in the market.now a days even kids have mobile phones n there the purpose is more of showin off rather thn necessity so according to me more than necessity .....its just a luxury item now a days.

60% of it i say that the usage counts here rather than the luxary............................since the existing world has become some short of the word patience so there is a need for quick meeting each other rather than waiting for a long time................................and the work can be easily done with the communication on the cell
