keratosis pilaris cure?

I have suffered from keratosis pilaris for as long as I can remember. It is a skin condition which appears like goose bumps on your upper arms, legs and sometimes the buttocks and face. I am a dancer but always have to wear long sleeved tops as I am too embarrassed to bare my arms. People make comments as to why I cover up as it gets so hot at dancing but I don't know what to say. I have two dance shows in my local theatre very soon and all my costumes show my arms, which I am nervous about. I have heard of things like oil pulling and DERMAdoctor KP products but I was wondering if anyone knows anything else that is good?

I am a dancer with KP as well. I wore long sleeved leotards wih the sleeve pulled up to 3/4 sleeve length or used ballet sweaters as well. No one ever question it though. I also wore the company's tshirt a size big, and twisted up the waist. For the performance, do not worry about it- the audience can't see your KP under the lights and with the distance between you and them. The other dancers will be too self involved and nervous/excited to notice your arms. Wear a cardigan, wrap sweater until it is your time to perform. Just leave it in the wings. No one will question it- you are just keeping your muscles warm. right :) Is it the bumps or the red spots that bother you most?

Thanx for your advice sounds like a good idea. I think it is the redness that bothers me most because that i think is the most noticable but i think that the bumps are more disgusting and i won't let anyone touch my arms because of it, i just feel too ashamed. I know that I notice it more than others but it is quite severe and I just get really embarrassed. Hardly anyone who knows me knows that I have KP cos I always cover up and anyone who does, doesn't seem to understand how much I hate it. It is better now though after researching a bit about it knowing how many other people have it and that there are other dancers out there in the same situation. Thank-you.
