Snakes do shed their skin every now and then and you also might have seen it in geographic channel, animal planet or discovery isn't it? what is the real reason behind the sheding of skin...do anyone know this?

well everyone knows that they do and then come up with a new shining one, infact humans do it too, not as dramatically as snakes though but when your skin cells die they turn white and that part of your skin then falls off and then new skin is revealed, do its not such a big deal

i think its about their growth. they grow up but their skin dont. so they have to shed it to be able to cope up with their growth.

Yes, snake's body will go on growing till almost at old age where it will decrease its growing rate and while their body grows, snakes do tend to rub itself to a rough surface sheding out it's skin.... Anyway's, thanks for responding

Snake body goes on growing and not the skin. So, snakes she their old skin every now and then so that new skin grows and snake body will keep on going till the end and only at their old age the growing rate will be little less and snakes rub their skin against any rough surface to take out the skin.. Anyway's, thanks for responding

well i'm not a biology student to answer it but i'll give my opinion......it's normal if u don;t bathe for a week or more than three days u may feel itchy all over snakes too have a siimilar feeling there skins become too old and can't give protection to the inner flesh of the body so they shed there skins by scratching there bodies in rough surfaces they then develop a new skin around themselves to protect it

Anyway's, thanks for responding
