ostritch meat why so expensive?

i was invited to an ostrich farm by a dear freind of mine in davao city...ostrich meat is indeed sooo tasty,almost all recipes for chichen pork and beef,ostritch meet can be used as a main ingredient...bus shock was i to find out that each kilo of ostrich meat costs about 1500pesos per kilo compared to pork chickhen and beef which costs abou 120pesos per kilo...now why soooo expensive?you have any info on this?

I do not know why ostrich meat is so expensive, sounds interesting I got to get my hands on the nest chunk of ostrich flesh I get. I have tried camel's meat and crocodile's meat at Carnivore in Nairobi, and I must say it is very tasty
