Locks Legs

We still don't know how he lost the use of his legs.It's one mystery that's driving me to drink lol. Any theories anybody?

I don't know anymore, but wasn't it show in one of the flashbacks. I remember that he gave his liver (or what was it?) without knowing, but indeed can't remember anything from the 'real' world where he lost the use of his legs.
