Windows Vista

There is nothing I've read about Vista yet that makes me want to run out and upgrade my current computers with Microsoft's long awaited new operating system. And I'm sure I'm not alone. Most of us consumers don't have the system to handle the upgrade in the first place. Aside from that who is going to want to be a guinea pig until microsoft works through all the kinks and flaws in the new OS? Not me, who wants to spend hours updating a new system and working with them countless times until everythings all figured out? Don't get me wrong vista looks like an excellent new OS but there are more cons than pros. What do you guys think?

As a computer technician, I have always suggested to my clients that they wait either for the first revamp or first service pack on an operating system. Do you remember what Windows XP was like at first? It was horrible but SP1 and then SP2 fixed the major problems and turned it into a halfway decent OS. So with Vista, I suggest wait awhile, see what the problems are and what solutions MS comes up with.

I am definitely going to wait. I am due to buy a new computer soon anyway so I will wait until then when there will be more user feedback.

I'd need to get a new computer to run Vista. It requires 15 gig of hard drive memory and MS recommend a minimum of 40 gig for a computer running Vista. That's more than double my present PC's hard drive capacity of 19 gig. I thought that was a lot at one time!
