Most dreams are not real. The things we dream about are things that never manifest. I believe that people talk in their sleep based on whats going on in their dreams. My brother as kids used to talk in his sleep and he used to say things like " the lion got me" Is that real or unreal. A lion did not have him at the time so my answer would be it is all a lie. Not to say that some of it is not true bacause we dream of real events as well. I would not take anything someone said in their dreams to court..lol. Great question though.

In my experience people who talk in their sleep usally say something related what they're dreaming about. This may or may not be related to real life situations just like dreams may or may not be related to real life situations. Can you lie while talking in your sleep? I can't see how you can as it's your subconscious talking. Interesting concept though.

Gosh I wish I knew, but your dreams are a mix of many things, at least those dreams that I remember when I wake up. Some of it deals with the present with bits of the past thrown in, sometimes there is a little fantasy. And in the end it could produce anything. I really don't think someone that is really deeply asleep would tell a lie, but I wouldn't be so sure that what was said by the person could be accepted as a fact. It's a dream, that persons mind could be anywhere and everywhere...SS

i hope so or my husband might find out exactly how much money i spend on clothes lol.i have nightmares about my overspending.its funny but i was remembering a man i knew years ago and he was living with a very possessive girlfriend who analysed his every move. when he fell asleep he always mumbled and talked for the first hour. she would question him as he spoke and ask him questions about whether or not he was faithful and where he had been the night before. he suspected she was doing this as she would make remarks the next day. one night he pretended to be asleep and started talking . of course his girlfriend was asking questions. she wanted to know did he every think about his ex and did he ever text her.well, he gave a good performance and said he loved his ex and missed her(even though he didnt).it was all picture and no sound the next morning and he made her suffer all day until he told her he was awake all the time. she didnt do it again i tell you. i know this doesnt answer your question but it reminded me of that couple. i think it served her right, lol.

I don't think that someone will be speaking the truth while speaking during sleep. The sleeping person's mind will be filled with imagination of dreams. He will not be in a position of our real world. He will talk according to the situations coming in his dream. So , his talk may not be true Cheers Nithya

no. a person in sleep would never lie. but, we should make sure whether the person is really sleeping or acting as if sleeping. the things i blabbered in my sleep is all very true.

i think it could be possible . if they have a secret for example that they dont want their husband to know. they spend a lot of time thinking how they will react if he finds out , so they think of lies to tell him . when they are sleeping how is the subconcious to sort out which is the lie and which is the truth so i guess anything could come out of theit mouths.i also think i am waffling but it makes sense to me . lol

don't think so. but i guess if they do they're not sleep. this is your most relaxed time, and if you're a talker your going to talk. my girl does it, she jus talks about her day every so often. i jus dont let her know she does it then she'll stop. its a good way to find out whats going on in her life without having to listen to it when shes awake lol

What an interesting question! I have no idea if it's possible to lie while sleep talking. My *guess* would be to say no - since it's coming from your subconcious. My husband talks in his sleep, and sometimes my 2yr old daughter does too.

When I talk in my sleep I'm told it's all just gibberish like mumbling or broken sentences. Sometimes I shout in my sleep as well, which is kind of scary.

I am a big sleep talker and my husband tells me the next day what he hears and its all true. When my husband and I got together we were staying at a friends place. He was in one room and my friend and I were in another room. The next day she goes up to him and says everything that me and my boyfriend (now my husband) had got up to. He was very upset with me and I kept telling him that I hadn't told her anything. She then said that I was sleep talking and she kept asking me questions to get more info out of me. I was really shocked as I didn't actually think I would answer questions while sleeptalking.

I dont know if you could lie in your sleep you would think that everything you say in your sleep in the truth because you are sleeping I dont think you would have the ability to lie. I talk in my sleep but I say stupid things like "stop that" "get down" and "No you cannot have 2 more cookies" lol

Talking in your sleep is all depends on the dreams that are happening as you sleep. For instance; If a person is dreaming about something sad, and they cry, it usually has nothing to do with physical things going on in their real life. It does however symbolize an issue the person is dealing with in his waking hours. Usually, a structure of some kind, like a building or house always has to do with prosperity of some kind. Talking in your sleep while dreaming of a house or building would only relate to the topic the dream symbolizes. Since the building symbolized prosperity, the talking a person does would also relate to the developing prosperity, the lack of it, a financial windfall or something like that. Dreams have different meanings for different people. Talking in one's sleep usually has nothing to do with their real life. Can someone lie as they talk in their sleep. That simply relative to the dream.
